Polar Plunge set for Jan. 24
December 29 2025
AUBURN, Ala.- The 14th annual Polar Plunge, presented by Auburn Parks and Recreation and Lee County Special Olympics, will be held Saturday, Jan. 24, at Samford Pool, beginning at 9 a.m.
Participants are invited to brave the cold and take the plunge to raise funds for local Special Olympics athletes. Participants can register to take the plunge and are encouraged to seek sponsors to help raise additional funds.
In 2025, the Polar Plunge raised more than $10,000 for Special Olympics athletes. Organizers hope to surpass that total in 2026. Registration is $20 per participant, which goes directly to the Lee County Special Olympics. Additional donations in cash or check, made payable to Lee County Special Olympics, are welcome.
Pre-registration is encouraged for all participants, including groups. Those who register by Jan. 6 are guaranteed an event T-shirt. Walk-up registration will also be available on-site the morning of the event.
